The Beatles On CD Promotional Shop Display (1987)
An original promotional shop display for the issue of the first four Beatles albums on CD.
The year long campaign to issue the Beatles catalogue on CD began in February 1987 with 'Please Please Me', 'With The Beatles', 'A Hard Day's Night', and 'Beatles For Sale', with each CD being released in mono, in keeping with the sound of the original releases.
The display features a hard card backing (with stand), with individual jewel cases for the albums attached to the front.
The card backing has some surface marking from having been in storage, and also has several pin-hole marks. The edges and corners also show some wear. The stand on the back has been repaired with tape (see photos).
The jewel case on 'With The Beatles' has snapped on the edges (front is loose from case).
Note that the jewel cases on the display only feature the CD inserts/artwork, and do not come with the CD's.
Size is approx. H:19"x W:12.5" (inches).
