42nd Street Large Banner Flag from Edinburgh Playhouse
A large cloth banner flag for the musical production 42nd Street, from the Edinburgh Playhouse. 42nd Street is a musical based on the book and film musical of the same name, which are set in 1933 and tell the story of a young girl named Peggy trying to make it on Broadway. The theatre adaptation of 42nd Street debuted on Broadway in 1980, almost fifty years after the originals. The production featured at the Playhouse many times between 1990 through to 2012 so it is unknown what year the flag was actually used. The flag is made from heavy duty fabric, which has slightly worn and has marks from having been in use (see photos). Note that the camera photos show the red to look slightly brighter than how it looks to the eye, and the white part of the fabric has some silver lining through it. Flag measures approx. 95"x44.5".
